Wow, January is really thundering along now...it'll soon be Christmas again! In fact I thought it was Christmas again on Tuesday night because when I got in, my wife was hoovering!
I watched one of our goalkeepers matches the other week; Terry McCormick for Bala Town in the Welsh Premier League. It was a very good level of football and seems to receive good coverage with S4C regularly screening games and highlights. In fact, terry will be on the TV again this Saturday when the Lakesiders face Afan Lido at home. Kick off is 1515 and the channel is available on Freesat or S4C usually have a live stream on their website.
I have a fondness for Welsh football due to two reasons. 1. Neville Southall and 2. The quality of the FAW Coach Education courses and Tutors (and 3. My Wife spent several years growing up in the shadow of Snowdon as a little girl, and even learned the language)
I also had a brief chat with Cambridge United's Danny Naisbitt just after his sides televised win over Southport FC, to which he suggested I find some highlights of the game as he was particularly proud of one or two saves - and rightly so, Nezzy is a top keeper and has proved his value to every club he's served over the years and we are rightly proud to have him involved in the business. In fact, it was nezzy who introduced us to this weeks Blog picture goalkeeper Chris Lewington, who has really found his feet this season in filling the gloves of cult hero Tony Roberts at Dagenham and Redbridge FC.
We have had informal chats with one or two other goalkeepers recently, but sadly nothings has yet come to fruition....still, that won't stop us from trying!
